CFB Week 6 Recap
1 Georgia @ Auburn (Georgia -14.5) Georgia 27-20
Georgia got it done. Great teams keep winning
Auburn ran it all over Georgia early
Big run by Payton Thorne
Jarquez Hunter was running with authority and punishing the Georgia defense
Georgia comes right back and ties it at 10
Auburn fails the 4th and 1 when they could have gone up 3 before half. CRUCIAL call. Should’ve kicked the field goal with only a minute before the half
Georgia puts the ball on the turf after 1 play in the second half
Robby Ashford came in and run successfully and scored
Daijun Edwards balled and ties it back up at 17
From this point on it was the Brock Bowers show…
Both teams kick one more field goal to tie it at 20
Brock Bowers catches a ball over the middle, breaks a couple tackles and takes the lead for good.
He posted 157 yards receiving and Georgia hangs on to win 27-20
7 Washington @ Arizona (Washington -17.5) Washington 31-24
LOTS of Dylan Johnson early
RUN HEAVY day for Washington…
They get a “disappointing” win because they are far better than they showed
Now… in the process they completely ruined our parlay and fumbled on the 5 leaving AT LEAST 3 points on the board which would have covered the 7.5 for us but that's how it goes
8 USC @ Colorado (USC -21.5) USC 48-41
USC jumped out to a 34-7 lead with 3 minutes left before half
Right about this time I got SEVERAL text messages about how “over rated” Colorado is…
Spiel
Colorado then scored right before the half and led a comeback to ultimately lose 48-41
As far as I’m concerned, Colorado is massively over performing…
10 Utah @ 19 Oregon State (Oregon St -3.5) Oregon St 21-7
Slow grind of a game on Friday night
Not a great offensive day for either squad but Oregon St got it done.
I personally am liking Oregon St more and more every week…
This one never really felt in question even though the score was close.
I predicted Oregon St would win a 1 possession, grindy, game… 7 points off
12 Alabama @ Mississippi State (Alabama -14.5) Alabama 40-17
Beat down…
Bama’s offensive woes as of late seemed non existent early… 31 points at half
Milroe showed you why he’s the starting QB with the 54 yard rushing TD to put bama on the board… He’s the most dynamic QB on the roster and we saw that
Bama is currently sitting atop the SEC West, tied only with TAMU and we get to see that matchup on Saturday..
13 LSU @ 20 Ole Miss (LSU -2.5) Ole Miss 55–49
Best game of the weekend if you like Offense.
Over 1300 yards of offense, 104 points scored, and about 50,00 Ole Miss fans on the field
Jaxon Dart rushed for 50 yards while throwing for 390 yards and 4 TDs and Quinshon Judkins finally got going with 170 rushing yards of his own and a pair of TDs
No turnovers, and no sacks…
LSU had no answer for the Ole Miss offense and the Rebels came out on top
Also of note, both Tulane and Alabama held Ole Miss under 100 yards rushing… Ole Miss combined for over 300 yards on the ground this past Saturday and completely embarrassed LSU in the front 7, as well as the secondary… Dominant performance but the Ole Miss offense.
We can’t talk about this game without talking about the 400 passing yards Jayden Daniels threw for, as well as the 4 TDs
Also ran for 100 yards
LSUs offense had the better day statistically, believe it or not but couldn’t come down with the TD on the last play of the game.
Brian Thomas and Malik Nabors both covered 100 yards receiving…
Like I said, neither team really played defense and this is a great signature win for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss but I don’t think either team can feel great about the way their defenses performed…
Ole Miss just became big fans of TAMU
22 Florida @ Kentucky (Kentucky -1.5) Kentucky 33-14
We knew Ray Davis was going to be a problem for Florida… but I damn sure didn’t expect him to rush for 280 freaking yards and put Kentucky on his back in a dominant showing…
Devin Leary didn’t even have 75 yards passing… This game was on the legs of Ray Davis and he adjusted his shoulder pads, put the team on his back and literally ran Florida out of Lexington…
Incredible performance
